Library Offers Exam Proctoring

Are you in a distance-learning program?  Did you know that exam proctoring is available at Mount Clemens Public Library?  The library supports education by offering exam proctoring by our reference librarians. To use this service, students must:
  • Make an appointment in advance of the desired exam date
  • Make sure that all exam materials are delivered to the proctor prior to the exam date
  • Bring photo ID and all necessary exam supplies
  • Take responsibility for all costs of returning exam materials to the issuing institution (postage, fax fees, etc.)

There is no charge for the proctoring service, but the student is responsible for covering any and all fees for transmitting exam materials to and from the proctor.  The library reserves the right to refuse proctoring if the requirements of the exam exceed staff or facility capabilities.

If you would like to schedule a proctored exam, phone the library at 586-469-6200 and ask for the reference desk.

Novel Night is Coming on October 22

Meet three local authors who have recently published novels at Mount Clemens Public Library's Novel Night on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.  First-time novelist David Inman will present his new techno-thriller, Pushing Back, a mysterious story about the development of a new energy resource. Another first-time novelist, Bob Prevost, will present his historical novel entitled Mallast, which is based upon the experiences of the Mallast family that settled in Macomb County after emigrating from Germany.  Finally, we will hear from Dr. Wilmot Kreis, who will discuss his latest novel, The Corridor, the nail-biting story of an insurance investigator who poses as a prostitute in the Cass Corridor to gather data on the worst medical clinics in the area.  Dr. Kreis is also the author of an eight-part historical fiction series entitled The Allards, a saga based on the true story of one of the region's pioneer families.

The program will feature discussions by each of the writers. Copies of their books will be available for purchase and autographing at the conclusion of the program.  No registration is required. Please join us!
