In accord with an executive order issued by Governor Jennifer Granholm, the library's flags are flying at half-staff today in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Governor Granholm encourages all citizens of Michigan to remember those who were impacted by this tragedy.
“Let each of us take a moment of silence to reflect on and remember the tragedy of September 11,” Granholm said. “In our reflections, let us honor the memories of the victims and heroes of that day and keep their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Let us also embrace our great patriotic spirit that continues to unify and strengthen our country.”
