Summer Reading Club Time!

Kids, pick up your reading log in the Children's Room and take a look in the display case in the Children's Room at all the cool prizes you can earn. Children who read at a PK through 2nd grade level will earn a prize for every 5 books or 150 pages they read. Children who read at a 3rd grade and higher level will earn a prize for every 250 pages they read. Every time you get a prize you will get a chance in a drawing for one of three GIANT Disney coloring books or a stuffed Mickey Mouse. Our reading time has been extended this year so you can earn even more prizes and get more chances this summer. We will have our drawing on Wednesday, August 19 at 5 p.m.

We are getting creative at Mount Clemens Library and our summer programs this year are awesome. We open with Magician Joel Tacey's Circus Creatus on Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m. Joel combines magic, music, art and juggling into an exciting and family fun show. Storyteller Loretta Vitek will dazzle us with "Deliciously Dramatic Dragons" on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m.

Three especially creative programs are all on Tuesdays at 1 p.m: June 30 come to our Patriotic Costume Party dressed as your favorite American or American Symbol. July 7 "Get Musical" and bring anything you think you can make into a musical instrument. July 14 we will have "Creative Play". We will play games, do a play, play with Legos, or play with words. Let your imagination loose to create something special.

Naturalist Julie Champion from MetroBeach will show us "Mother Nature's Paint Box" on Tuesday, July 21 at 1 p.m. Then on July 28 at 1 p.m our summer programs close with ventriloquist Richard Paul's "Fantastically Funny Family Entertainment Show".

We're looking forward to seeing you throughout the summer!
