Eppens-Van DeWeghe Funeral Home Records Now Online

The library and the Macomb County Genealogy Group are pleased to announce that index data for the records of the Eppens-Van DeWeghe Funeral Home, late of Detroit, have just been added to the Macomb County Funeral Home Records Master Index. This funeral home was created as a partnership between the Alfred W. Eppens Funeral Home on Gratiot and the Schneider-Van DeWeghe Funeral Home on E. Warren, and its business records go back as far as 1914.

The Macomb County Funeral Home Records Master Index database is an online index to funeral home record transcriptions from a growing number of funeral homes that served Macomb County, as well as some areas of Wayne and Oakland County. With this update, the index now includes over 80,000 entries. Transcribed records are available for viewing in the library in book form. The master index is available for online searching anytime by clicking here.

Our thanks to Karen Rogers and Brenda Miller who direct the funeral home record project and have donated countless hours of transcription time to it, and to Ann Faulkner, who maintains the master index for us. Karen and Brenda would also like to extend their thanks to the management of the Bagnasco-Calcaterra Funeral Home, who provided access to the Eppens-Van DeWeghe records.
