With the generous support of the Macomb County Genealogy Group, the library has just added a subscription to an outstanding historical research database called Footnote.com. Footnote currently includes more than 49 million document and photographic images, many of them digitized records of the National Archives and Records Administration. A goldmine for historical researchers and genealogists, the database allows users to search records by keyword and then display, print and annotate images of original documents. A small sampling of the collections found in Footnote includes: city directories of Detroit for 1861-1923, Civil War service records, Papers of the Continental Congress, FBI Case Files 1909-1921, and Indian Census Rolls, 1885-1940. Users may search Footnote's index anytime at www.footnote.com, but must use a computer in the library building in order to view or print document images. Happy hunting!
