2009 Michigan Notable Book Author Coming to Macomb Book Fair

Here's another sneak peak at our 2009 Macomb Book Fair line-up! We are pleased that Jean Alicia Elster will present a workshop entitled “Writing a Children's Book Series.” Ms. Elster has just won a 2009 Michigan Notable Book award for her middle-grade novel Who's Jim Hines?, published by Wayne State University Press in 2008. The book is based on real events about Douglas Ford, Jr., a 12-year-old African-American boy growing up in Detroit during the Great Depression.
Ms. Elster is also the author of the children's book series Joe Joe in the City, published by Judson Press. She is the founder and president of Write Word, Inc.
