Did you know that your public library accepts used ink jet and laser toner cartridges for recycling? You may drop them off at the library any time during regular service hours, and we will send them to a company that recycles them. The library receives a small payment for each spent cartridge we turn in, and that money in turn is used to support our library programs and services.
We also accept old cell phones for recycling, and send them the the Cell Phones For Soldiers organization. Cell Phones for Soldiers turns in old cell phones and uses the proceeds to provide pre-paid calling cards to American service personnel who are deployed overseas. To date, they have distributed more than 400,000 calling cards to deployed members of the U.S. armed forces.
